For your heart’s content,
all you have to do is sit —
still, and long enough.
Though not far away,
you have to enter the gate
found on your cushion.
What is so precious
About the mirror of Mind?
You cannot break it!
Harmony is great!
But must include everything —
It’s the same diff’rence!
Who said it was yours?
What if they are all liars?
Who you gonna call?
A novel idea!
What if it’s untrustworthy?
Then what will you do?
What a Zen monster!
Walking back to India —
Dead, with one sandal!
Warning, practicers:
Spawn of the Five Aggregates —
Don’t be fooled again!
Further instruction
Is apparently called for —
Don’t eat those onions!
What is instruction?
Who can tell you what to do?
The Thus-Come One can!
What is illusion?
Not what you may think it is —
Thought is delusion
What is the Matrix
of the so-called Thus-Come One?
Just thus — this suchness.
What is it that sees?
Is it the eye or the mind?
Or anything else?
Inside the body?
Outside it or in-between?
Or anywhere else?
It doesn’t matter
what posture you may adopt —
the truth is the same.
We should not deceive,
harm or despise another —
seems impossible!
May all be happy —
What kind of cruel joke is that?
This is Samsara!
“What is accomplished”
is not a question in Zen —
it is a statement.
A prodigal child
may not ever return home.
It is up to them.
A little white lie
can go a long way — stopping
fools dead in their tracks
